The Hunter Douglas Group was established in 1919 by Henry Sonnenberg in Germany.
The business is predominately owned by the Sonnenberg family, with the second and third generations managing the business.
The group is a world market leader in window coverings and a major manufacturer of architectural products, achieving sales in excess of $US3.63 billion.
Comprising more than 133 companies with in excess of 47 manufacturing and 86 assembly facilities, the group operates in over 100 countries and employs about 23,500 people.
Hunter Douglas Australia is the largest supplier of window coverings in Australia. As well as using our products within our own assembly division, we sell window covering components to independent fabricators who assemble the components into a finished product for sale to the consumer.

THE ART OF WINDOW STYLING
The Australian Window Furnishings division sources its products primarily from the Components business unit, or our overseas affiliates, and specialises in the assembly/fabrication of premium-end, custom-made window covering products. These products are distributed under the premium brand of Luxaflex® and Hunter Douglas Architectural. Private label brands (Vogue, Premier, Betta and Boniwell) are sold through licensed independent operators, as are some unbranded products. The assembly facilities are based at Rydalmere, NSW and Yatala, Queensland.
COMPONENT SALES
Our Components business sells components it sources, or produces in our Metals & Textiles facilities, to independently owned fabricators, who assemble the products into a finished good for sale via a retailer or direct sale. Selected retailers market their products under the Sunway brand. Head Office and the Metals & Textiles facilities are based at Rydalmere, NSW.
Based at Carrum Downs VIC, the Bricos business sells locally and internationally sourced fabrics and components using the same business model as the Components business. The products are marketed under the specialised brands of Mermet, Turnils and SunShadow.
SUSTAINABILITY
We've invested in green renewable energy at our primary Australian manufacturing site where we've installed 2080 solar panels on our Sydney warehouse building.
