Quality Control Laboratory 
Hunter Douglas Limited Textiles Quality Control laboratory is ISO 9000 accredited and is equipped with instruments that allow them to test yarn, basecloth and finished fabric. Some of the more common testing performed is:
• Determination of fabric weight
• Thickness and stiffness
• Shrinkage test
• Determination of resistance to heat and fabric cracking
• Determination of opacity
• Determination of colour accuracy
• Colourfastness to light
• Tensile and tear strength of yarn and fabric
• Hydrostatic head test
• Twist in yarn
• Fraying
• Oil content
• Colour accuracy and more

The tests performed are carried out in accordance with Australian Standards. The laboratory maintains a high standard environment at all times according to Standards Australia under which all our testing is undertaken. The Laboratory also has the equipment and technology which allows them to conduct basecloth testing analysing weave structures and determining weave densities.

Our Quality Control Laboratory is also heavily involved in finished blind testing, checking for aesthetic features of the finished product, liaising with customers for feedback regarding performance of our products. Blind hanging tests are routinely done on all our products to ensure a quality product is produced at all times.

The Textiles division employs technologists highly qualified and experienced in Textiles Technology and Textiles Management. They have the knowledge and experience to ensure all fabrics that leave Hunter Douglas are of the highest quality.
